The Grand Connection!

The Village Work & Play Space is excited to announce it's newest way of bringing the community together!

The Grand Connection is a program that gives the opportunity for elders to volunteer a few hours a week and spend time making connections with young children and their families. There are numerous studies that prove the positive results of such relationships for all involved.

Our location at 20471 Douglas Crescent, Langley City was chosen as home for The Village Work & Play Space due to the diversity of folks who live and work in the area. But with such diversity can come challenges to bridging gaps. The vision of The Grand Connection program is to bring all generations together in a supportive, caring environment and to have great experiences while making lasting relationships.

We our currently looking for Volunteer Grandparents who can commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Once our numbers grow, we will have a posted schedule for parents so they know when they can bring their families in and visit with the volunteers.

Volunteer Opportunity for High School Students

Do you know a high school student looking for a great volunteer opportunity to fulfil graduation requirements? The Village needs them to tend to our play space and the families that we serve. Responsibilities would include reading and playing with children aged 2-5 years old and tidying up the play space.
